Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Okan Ozturk (“we”, “us”), who develops and operates reelrec. They apply to the reelrec app for iPhone and iPad and to the reelrec.app website (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you accept them; if you don’t, please don’t use it. How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can use reelrec

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if your country sets a higher minimum age for using online services. If you are under 18, you need the permission of a parent or guardian.

2. Your account

• Keep your sign-in method secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• Don’t choose a display name or username that impersonates someone else, misleads people, or is offensive.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app’s Privacy settings.

3. Content you post

Reviews, comments, ratings, lists and other things you post remain yours. So that we can run the Service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, adapt (for example, resize or translate the interface around it) and distribute that content within the Service, including on reelrec.app pages that show what you have made visible, for as long as it stays on the Service. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must keep data by law.

You are responsible for what you post and must have the right to post it. Please mark spoilers using the spoiler option.

4. Rules

You must not use the Service to post or do anything that:

• is illegal, or encourages illegal activity;
• harasses, threatens, bullies or demeans people, or attacks them for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics;
• is sexually explicit, or sexualizes minors in any way (we have zero tolerance for this and report it to the authorities);
• glorifies violence or self-harm;
• shares someone’s private information without their permission;
• impersonates someone, or infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark or other rights;
• is spam, advertising, or a scam;
• interferes with the Service: automated access or scraping, attempts to get around rate limits, privacy settings or blocks, reverse engineering, or anything that overloads or harms our systems or other users.

5. Reporting, blocking and moderation

You can report content and block other users in the app. We review reports and aim to act on content that breaks these rules within 24 hours. We may screen text before it is published, including with automated tools, and we may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms, without notice where necessary. If you think we got a decision wrong, write to support@reelrec.app. Notices about unlawful content, including under Turkish Law No. 5651, can be sent to the same address.

6. Recommendations and information

Recommendations, match scores and other suggestions are generated automatically, partly with AI, and may be wrong or not to your taste. Film and TV information, ratings and streaming availability come from third parties and may be incomplete, out of date or different in your region. Always check with the streaming service before you rely on it.

7. Third-party content and services

• This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Film and TV data and images are provided by The Movie Database.
• Streaming availability is provided by JustWatch.
• Trailers are played from YouTube, under YouTube’s terms.
• If you connect a media server (such as Overseerr, Radarr or Sonarr), you do so at your own risk; we don’t control those services.

Third-party names, posters and trademarks belong to their owners.

8. Our rights

The reelrec app, website, name, logo and design belong to us. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your own non-commercial use, in line with these terms and the App Store’s terms. You may not copy, sell, modify or distribute the app or build a competing service from it.

9. Changes and availability

reelrec is currently free. We may change, add or remove features, and we may suspend or end the Service. We don’t guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using reelrec and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we must by law. Sections 3 (for content still on the Service), 6, 7, 11, 12 and 13 continue to apply afterwards.

11. Disclaimer

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, loss of data or loss of profits arising from your use of the Service. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent or gross negligence.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, you can bring a claim before the consumer arbitration committees or consumer courts where you live, and you keep any protection that the law of your country of residence gives you.

14. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any claims relating to the app (including product liability, legal compliance, or intellectual property claims). To the extent the law allows, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When a change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
